Astou Mbacke, creator of Formula 1C, suffered from alopecia for over 10 years. As a result of noticing a small part of her nape extremely short and uneven, she began to wonder what was wrong. She started to disguise it by wearing wigs and camouflaging hairstyles. Soon after, the area started to expand, totaling from the middle of her ear down to bottom of her nape. Because she was used to having thick her, this was devastating. Throughout the years she experienced traction alopecia, effluvium alopecia, and then trichotillomania. While traction alopecia results in a person’s hair being too tight like when wearing ponytails, braids, or wigs without protection. Trichotillomania is a compulsive desire to pull one's hair out.
Astou tried many oils individually, but to her frustration they didn’t work. Life events resulted in effluvium alopecia which can result in small or large bald spots throughout the entirety of the scalp. That’s two different types of alopecia.
She finally cut her hair into a style that completely masked the effects of alopecia. Paying closer attention to her hair as it grew out, she tried protective styles, ayurvedic powders, and treatments found online to no avail. To exhaust all of her options of what it could be without having an official diagnosis of alopecia, Astou sought a physician. The doctor she consulted referred to her loss of hair as, ‘normal for people of your ethnicity’ saying there was nothing she could do about it.
Refusing to accept or believe what the doctor said, she researched natural remedies for resolution. Although the idea of proving this physician wrong was at the forefront of her mind, she started pulling the nape of her hair to cope with mild anxiety. This is a form of alopecia (and an anxiety disorder) called trichotillomania.
Finally, after praying about it, she started mixing different oils and supplements together which would soon become the answer to prayer. After feeling sad, upset, indifferent, and disappointed from not having any improvement for so many years, Astou was elated by her discovery. She knew she had to resolve the mild anxiety by relaxation or all the hard work of growing it back would end up being pulled out. Because certain foods affect a person’s mood, Astou made the decision to commit to a total lifestyle change. She changed her diet, started exercising more, and began seeing results of hair growth quickly.
Sharing her findings with friends and family, they later volunteered to see if the product worked on them and their children as well. Ranging from 2 to 64 years old, all had positive results with children seeing the most optimal results. Happy to help their situation as well, Astou was overjoyed, having no inclination to offer the oil mixture to the public.
After seeing results for her own child, an acquaintance encouraged her to offer the oil to others who may be experiencing thin hair, stagnancy in hair growth, or those recovering from cancer or bariatric surgery. Astou began researching the mixture ingredients to determine the most ideal solution. She’s created her first line of products to offer children who suffer from aloecia areata a remedy of hope.
Not only can the oil reverse the effects of certain types of alopecia, it can help revive hair follicles, and boost hair growth.
